A ROYTON man has scooped £1,000 in a monthly prize draw organised by bus operator First . . . only days before heading off on a round-the-world backpacking trip.

Chris Butler is a regular user of the 412 service between Royton and Oldham and saw details of First’s Travel to Win prize draw on the bus.

He explained: “I had planned to look for work in Australia so I suppose I can now spend more time making the most of the places I’m planning to visit.”

The Travel to Win monthly draw began last year and continues until November, and each month someone wins £1,000 just for travelling on a First bus.
