SHOPPERS in Oldham were given a rare racing treat when a Formula One car roared into pole position at Spindles Town Square shopping centre.
The ING R27 Renault wowed onlookers as it was put on display to celebrate the start of British Grand Prix weekend.
It gave the public a rare chance to see a grand prix car up close.
The vehicle was launched in January, 2007, when ING became the title sponsor of the Renault F1 team.
This season a new R28 car was unveiled with a driver line-up of double champion Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet Jnr.
