ASPIRING artists from The Oldham College exhibited their cutting-edge works at this year’s creative and visual arts show.
The event represented what is believed to be one of the largest displays of visual and creative arts ever seen in Oldham.
The Grange Arts Centre, Rochdale Road, Oldham, was transformed into an exciting display to show the creations by the young artists.
More than 150 students displayed their work, ranging from fine-art painting to sculpture and interior and fashion design to films and animation. The Oldham College Visual and Performing Arts Department has continued to go from strength to strength.
This year, the students have fought off huge national and international competition to secure places at some of the most outstanding universities in the country.
Joseph Burns, of Delph, has been offered a place at the internationally-acclaimed Central St Martin’s College, London, to study for a BA degree in interior design.
He said: “The support and tutoring I have received from The Oldham College in my six years has been absolutely invaluable and I owe my success to the tutors and staff.”
Other visual and performing arts students have also gained places at Central St Martin’s, and at Edinburgh School of Art, Falmouth College of Fine Art and many other regional higher education colleges.
