Officer snapped reading at wheel

AN investigation has been launched by Greater Manchester Police after an officer was caught reading at the wheel in Oldham.

A keen-eyed motorist spotted the gaffe on Monday afternoon and got one of his passengers to film the officer. The footage was sent to the Daily Mirror.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “It is not acceptable for police drivers to read while at the wheel and if it is found that the officer has done so, then appropriate action will be taken.”
