OLDHAM’S most talented photographers will be given the chance to make their mark in health history.

A collection of snaps by Oldham College students were put on display at Oldham Library at the weekend and the winning pictures will adorn the walls of the borough’s £20 million care centre when it opens next year. Each of the 10 floors at the state-of-the-art building, which is next to the civic centre, will be colour coded in blue, green, grey, orange, purple or red and a photo will be chosen to represent each colour.

Gail Richards, chief executive of Oldham Primary Care Trust, said: “This has been an excellent opportunity for us to invest in local talent and students have really done themselves proud.

These photos will play a huge part in making the centre a more accessible and welcoming place. That in turn will help us to provide the high quality services that people in Oldham deserve.”

The pictures will be at the library for two weeks before they go on a whistlestop tour around the borough. They can also be viewed online at www.festivalofdiversityoldham.co.uk/wayfinding .

The deadline for voting is August 15 and the winning entries will be announced in September.
