A CHADDERTON man died when he ran into the side of a taxi, an Oldham inquest heard yesterday.
Paruk Miah (65), of Lucerne Close, was on his way to the Middleton Road mosque, Westwood, when the accident happened, on November 14, 2007.
A post mortem examination revealed Mr Miah, who was divorced and had no children, died from severe traumatic brain injury.
Mr Allah Ditta, who works for 6060 on Yorkshire Street, Oldham, said: “I saw Mr Miah run along the footpath but not the road. I then heard a bang.”
PC John Griffin, who examined the scene said the pedestrian had run into the side of the taxi.
