Date published: 17 July 2008
BLUE Coat pupils paraded across the town centre yesterday to celebrate Founder’s Day — a ceremony to mark the establishment of Blue Coat in 1829 by Thomas Henshaw.
With a banner and a band they paraded to Oldham War Memorial where a wreath was laid. A service followed in Oldham Parish Church.
