Six weeks of motoring misery
Date published: 24 July 2008
ROADWORKS are set to cause massive tailbacks around one of Royton’s busiest junctions near Shaw Road End as work scheduled to take six weeks begin.
Temporary road closures have been put in place at the Broadway and Shaw Road junctions while the work is carried out.
The £220,000 scheme, by Greenbooth Construction of Chadderton, includes resurfacing and the creation of new footways. Roads affected include Edge Lane Street, High Barn Street, Rochdale Road, Oldham Road, Heyside Lane and Salmon Fields.
For safety reasons the roads have been closed to through traffic, although pedestrians and residents will still have access.
