Children and Groundwork staff search for pond life at the nature reserve
RESIDENTS on the Sholver housing estate have an exciting nature reserve on their doorsteps.
Groundwork Oldham and Rochdale have been carrying out improvements at the Fulwood Nature Reserve over the last 10 weeks.
And tomorrow, a nature walk will be held between noon and 3pm to raise awareness of the reserve. There will also be a barbecue and a demonstration of willow weaving.
Project officer Tom Armstrong said: “The nature walk is a perfect opportunity for the people of Sholver and the wider communities to discover what an amazing site they have on their doorsteps.”
Church warden from St Thomas’s, Moorside, Lynn Neston, said: “This work on the reserve has been well worth doing, making it a good resource for the local schools.”
For more information about the reserve or the nature walk contact Tom Armstrong or Rachael Ford on 0161-624 1444.
