Flasher, 62, is spared a jail sentence

AN elderly flasher has been spared prison after an incident in public toilets in Stockport led to his arrest.
At Minshull Street Crown Court, Michael Kehoe (62), of Edward Street, Oldham, admitted outraging public decency last October and was ordered to complete a two-year community rehabilitation order.
He was also prohibited from seeking the company of young children under the age of 16 and told he could not move to an address without the specific permission of the chief constable of that area.
His solicitor told the court he was willing to take medication to curb his libido.
The court was told Kehoe had a long record for flashing dating back to 1974, including an offence as recently as September, 2006, in Oldham for which he received a three-year community rehabilitation order.
Probation officers suggested a court should pass a sentence for public protection.
Miss Rachel Shenton, defending, said Kehoe had suffered mental difficulties as a result of heavy drinking.
She accepted victims would have found Kehoe’s behaviour frightening and distressing, but said he was willing to take anti-libido medication to curb his sexual urges.
Passing a fresh community order until 2010, Judge Jeffrey Lewis told Kehoe: “You know what happened and I think you know it is something that shouldn’t be repeated.
“If you do continue committing offences of his nature then you will be sent to prison.
“You have got to be very careful about the way you behave yourself in public places in future.”
