The determination of thieves at an off-licence in Shaw astonished the owner.
For a steel shutter on the outside of Javad Stop and Shop in Princess Road, Shaw, was prised apart by strong-arm robbers, so they could steal £8,000 in cigarettes and £200 in cash from the shop.
Owner Javad Anwas said: “With the shutter hanging off a lot of people passing have wondered what was going on.
“But the good news is that the whole robbery in the early of Thursday morning was captured on CCTV.”
“It was a blow to us though since we have only been in business here for 12 months.”
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said; “We know that four unknown offenders broke into the shop in Princess Road, Shaw.
“A large amount of cigarettes as well as some cash and alcohol were taken before the men escaped.
“They are all white, aged between 16 and 20 years and were wearing dark clothing.”
“Any witnesses are asked to contact Greater Manchester Police on 872 5050.”
