STARS of the future took to the stage at Millgate Arts Centre, Delph, to showcase their talents to family and friends.
The youngsters showed off their acting skills to mark the end of year performance of the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy.
Throughout the year, the students have taken part in a drama syllabus designed to increase their confidence, self- esteem, communication skills and creative talents.
Shaw Lower Primary, made up of five to eight-year-olds, performed “The Grasshopper and the Ants” while the upper primary, aged nine to 11, performed “Fancy That!”.
And the Youth Theatre, made up of secondary school-age students, performed “The Perfect Scandal” to an audience of more than 150.
After the shows, Wendy Orrell, the principal of the academy, presented students with certificates and medals.
She said: “It is a delight to see the shows coming together and to see the way the children have developed over the past year.
“They have worked very hard and had a lot of fun.
“The support of parents and schools in the community is greatly appreciated.
“To see every student being able to do something positive for themselves is very rewarding.”
