EYE-OPENER: The Princess Elizabeth at Greenfield Station
A MIGHTY steam locomotive gave a whole new meaning to the Scarborough-run through Saddleworth.
Scarborough-bound trains regularly run through the area in the summer, but an engine like the 6201 Princess Elizabeth was quite an eye-opener.
Enthusiasts were out at Greenfield and other points along the line on Friday morning to catch a glimpse of the former LMS locomotive which was named after the future Queen in 1950.
The special train service, operated by the Railway Touring Company, will be running every Friday until the end of the month between Crewe and Scarborough, taking in Manchester Victoria, Huddersfield and York.
