THAT’S THE WAY TO DO IT. . .Staff and service users from Oldham Drug and Alcohol Team (DAAT) cool off after an action-packed day
OLDHAMERS hoping to kick the drugs and booze got into the competitive spirit with a special It’s A Knockout competition for drug and alcohol service users across Greater Manchester.
The competition, which was organised and hosted by Salford Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT), saw local DAAT teams compete against each other in a range of activities, from a music quiz to an assault course and even a ski race.
And the Oldham group of 11 clients put in a sterling effort to finish third overall out of 15 teams.
The day aimed to help develop clients’ teamwork skills while they had fun and enabled them to meet other people who have had similar experiences to them.
Oldham DAAT business manager Perry Gunn said “We are very pleased to support initiatives such as the It’s A Knockout competition, which encourages personal health and fitness along with social integration and a sense of team spirit, all of which assist our clients in their road to recovery.”
