Four cabbies suspended

OLDHAM Council has suspended four taxi drivers in its continuing crackdown on rogue taxi operators.
Its licensing panel heard applications to review their private-hire licences following convictions.
Habib ul-Rehman (33), of Hereford Street, Werneth, was suspended for 28 days following convictions for no insurance and failing to conform with a traffic signal.
Amran Yousaf (27), of Abbeyhills Road, Oldham, was suspended for 14 days following a conviction for no insurance.
Javed Niaz (39), of Mona Road, Chadderton, was suspended for two months following convictions for no insurance and picking up fares without a public hire licence.
Nadir Hussain (31), of Bolton Street, Oldham, was suspended for four months following convictions for two counts each of no insurance and picking up fares without a public-hire licence.
