WHAT a classic... Val and Vert Kendall with their 1959 Chevrolet Impala
Drivers of huge, classic American cars may be feeling the pinch as their six-litre engines gobble up petrol at the rate of 10 miles to the gallon.
But that didn’t stop them rolling into Uppermill for a show.
The Saddleworth village is a new venue for the owners and it proved just the ticket as 50 enthusiasts showed show off their cars on King George V Playing Fields.
Organiser Bert Kendall, of the American Auto Club North-West, said:
“Uppermill is a good spot for us and is local to most of our members.
“We wanted a local show because the cars, which often have six litre engines, go through fuel at the rate of 10 to 12 miles a gallon.
“We had 50 American cars on show.”
