A FAILSWORTH actor is putting his fame to good use to raise money for a host of charities.
Daniel Jillings (26) has appeared in television series such as “Emmerdale”, “Coronation Street” and “The Royal” as well as several films.
But his real passion is his new project, Together Aware, which he set up to raise funds for good causes.
Its biggest event so far took place in June at Old Trafford when stars from soaps, sport and music enjoyed a gala dinner dance in aid of the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign and Ovarian Cancer Action.
Daniel, a former pupil at Failsworth School, said: “We strive to make an impression on everyone who comes to our events and use our imagination to raise awareness of the charity that each event is in aid of.
“Each event is tailored to meet the needs of each charity, and we work hard to ensure that the charity’s key messages are delivered.
“We try and inject a sprinkle of fun into all events after putting in so much passion and dedication.”
Daniel, who now lives in Droylsden, decided to form Together Aware after attending similar charity events.
He said: “I was always looking at ways they could have been improved and finding ways to make them better.
“I was making suggestions at one event and a friend said I should have a go myself if I thought I could do it.
“I have always done things for charity such as sky dives and sponsored bike rides but I wanted to do something on a much larger scale.”
Plans are in place for a Together Aware Christmas Ball, again at Old Trafford, and Daniel is also in the process of setting up a Together Aware football team.
He said: “I have got quite a few contacts in the acting world so I thought I would try and get a few celebrities together and form a football team for charity tournaments and events.
“We are currently looking for a company to sponsor the team and anyone interested in finding out more can call 0771-743 6357 or e-mail to contact@togetheraware.com.”
Daniel is also inviting charities to get in touch to be considered as Together Aware’s official beneficiaries.
He said: “We are looking for around five charities that we will work with next year and all events that we plan will be in aid of these charities.
“Potential sponsors can also visit our website, which can be found at www.togetheraware.com
