Andrew Bridge has the X-Factor!
The 35-year-old from Shaw, auditioned in front of 10million viewers on Saturday night and was told by new judge Cheryl Cole “your voice has a` gorgeous tone.”
Andrew, who works in marketing, was given a “yes” by all four judges to get through to the next round.
Andrew sang the Stevie Wonder hit “Lately”. There was only a short clip broadcast of Andrew’s performance but it was enough to electrify his friends and family.
Andrew said: “I knew I had got through to the next stage — but I also knew I had to keep quiet about it. But I have been really excited about this. My dream is to become a singer and perform.”
“I have my wife Melanie and three children and it is important to me to provide for them .”
The other local contestant Graham Wheeler is still in the running — his audition was not included in Saturday’s show.
