Daisy Nook bidding to become top dog

OLDHAMERS can help bring Daisy Nook Country Park a step closer to becoming one of the UK’s 21 top dog walks with a special online vote.
Daisy Nook is one of 52 walks shortlisted at www.21topdogwalks.co.uk
Organisers Hill’s Pet Nutrition has teamed up with tourism agency Enjoy England on a campaign to reduce rising levels of canine obesity, which now affects up to 50 per cent of dogs.
Anyone voting will be in with the chance of winning a year’s supply of Hill’s healthy dog food.
A spokesman for Hill’s said: “By simply taking your pooch for a twice a day walkies you can help reduce canine obesity and the risk of related conditions such as heart disease, arthritis, breathing difficulties and diabetes.”
Tom Wright, chief executive of national tourism agency, Visit Britain said: “The credit crunch and wider economic climate is making it increasingly possible that many more people will opt for a UK break instead of going abroad.
“By providing a list of the top dog walking spots, we will encourage people to go and discover the fantastic beaches, parks and woodlands the UK has to offer.”
