Holidays this week for 160,000

MORE than 160,000 travellers are expected to pass through Manchester airport this weekend, as the great bank holiday getaway gets under way.
North-West passengers looking for a spot of late summer sunshine will flood through the doors at the region’s major airport, with Mediterranean resorts in the Balearic Islands, Spain and the Greek islands the hot holiday favourites,
Thousands of Brits are also jetting off to Turkey, Cyprus and Portugal, with city breaks like New York, and Amsterdam big sellers.
More than 420,000 eager holiday makers will fly out of Heathrow, with a further 260,000 escaping the August showers via Gatwick.
The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) also revealed that 85,000 people will board Eurostar for trips to the continent.
