Tribute night for Carl
Date published: 22 August 2008
A TRIBUTE night will held in the memory of local DJ Carl McQuaid who was found dead at his home.
Carl McQuaid was a resident DJ at hugely successful Oldham club night Rude. The 39-year-old came second in a contest to find the borough’s best deck spinner in 2006.
A spokesman for Rude said: “Everyone at Rude is absolutely devastated, shocked, stunned and numb — words can’t describe how hard this has hit us.
“Not only was Carl a fantastic DJ, he was an integral part of Rude for the five years he was involved.
“He was one of the nicest, most genuine guys you could ever hope to meet.
“Very rarely did you ever see him without a huge smile on his face.
“Carl will be hugely missed by everyone involved with rude and pretty much every single person who knew him — to say he was popular is an understatement.
“Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and especially his son Declan. He will be missed by everyone.”
The tribute night will be held at Tokyo Project, Roscoe Street, on Friday, September 19.
