RENOWNED author Peter Robinson came to Oldham yesterday as part of a national tour to promote his latest DCI Alan Banks novel, “All The Colours of Darkness”.
The best-selling author was at Gallery Oldham for the Oldham Library event, as he celebrates the 21st anniversary of his fictional maverick detective.
The novel is the 18th crime thriller in the series, which has earned worldwide acclaim, and 17 international literary awards.
DCI Alan Banks first appeared in “Gallows View” in 1987, and has built up a following over the years.
Robinson grew up in Leeds, and bases his novels in the Yorkshire landscape. He now spends half the year in Richmond, North Yorkshire, and the other half in Toronto, where he does much of his writing in a secluded cabin in the mountains.
