Rising to the Royton challenge are Tennique, Maddison and Amber Taljard and Kasie English-Wands
CHILDREN and parents from the Royton Hall Park Estate joined forces for a three-day clean-up organised by their landlord, Guinness Northern Counties.
Families from the estate joined volunteers and staff for the Royton Environmental Challenge, which included litter picking, recycling, and removal of unsightly moss and graffiti.
There was also a stall where children could plant seeds and bulbs, and a smoothie stall offering healthy refreshment.
The event, was aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues and instilling pride in the neighbourhood.
A celebration was held on the final day with creative activities for children including a poster competition, goody bags and cinema vouchers for hard work.
Alex Connolly, housing officer for Guinness Northern Counties and one of the organisers, said: “It was a great success and despite the weather everyone worked really hard and collected a lot of litter over the three days.
“It was great to see people take pride in their area and we would like to thank all the residents, staff and partner organisations who helped make our first ever Royton Hall Park Environmental Challenge such a success.”
