AN array of bikes line up for the show
BIKE fans flocked to the British Motorcycle Preservation Society show at the Turnpike pub in Lees New Road, Ashton.
There were more than 70 bikes and scooters of all ages and styles, including Nortons, Triumphs, BSAs and the Royal Enfield.
A custom Imp-powered trike owned by Alan Medhurst, from Stockport, also caught the eye.
The trike took two years to build during lunchbreaks and on Saturday afternoons.
But it has rewarded its owner with 24 years’ service.
Another prize exhibit was a BSA A65 Lightening (650cc) owned by Alan Coates.
Alan rode it to Switzerland and back twice since the rebuild to raise money for charity. About 18 cars turned up for the show including a 1971 Imp rally car.
David Jones, from Levenshulme, brought along his 19757 Ford Zodiac Mk11. His car has appeared on TV and will again shortly to commemorate an anniversary of the opening of the motorway network.
Other cars included a rare 1920s Hudson, a 1956 Cadillac saloon and a 1969 Plymouth Fury.
Food and drink was provided by staff at the pub and the preservation society was thanked for putting on the show.
