Hulme girls are eighth best

HULME Grammar School for Girls is eighth out of Greater Manchester’s 15 independent schools for GCSE results, according to new figures.
The boys’ school comes 12th in the table which ranks schools by the average GCSE points score achieved per pupil. The tables are based on data from the Independent Schools Council.
An A* pass is worth 58 points down to 16 points for a G grade. At the girls’ school, the average points score for its 68 GCSE pupils was 480.37, compared with 432.19 for 84 pupils at the boys’ school.
Manchester High School for Girls tops the Greater Manchester league table and is also ranked 14th nationally.
