Stabbing charge

AN Oldham man has been remanded in custody after a stabbing in Bury.

Wesley John Ogden (28), of Featherstall Road North, appeared before Bury magistrates on Monday charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, criminal damage, battery and assaulting a police officer.

At about 9.40pm on Saturday, a 46-year-old man was stabbed in the chest and slashed in the face outside the Clarence Pub in Silver Street. He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening.

Ogden will appear before Bolton Crown Court on November 18.
