Man kept child-sex images in bedroom

AN internet pervert who downloaded pornographic pictures of children and hid them under his mattress has been ordered to attend a sex offenders’ treatment programme.

David Entwistle (29), of Otley Close, Chadderton, was arrested after he used his credit card to access restricted sites which features scenes of child abuse.

Officers monitoring the internet sites for paedophiles were able to trace Entwistle’s card details back to his home and raided it earlier this year.

They found 169 different images of children being abused ranging in various levels of seriousness.

At Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, Entwistle admitted making indecent images of children and was ordered to complete a three-year community rehabilitation order.

He will be under supervision and have to attend a programme which deals with internet-related sex offending.

Judge Timothy Mort told Entwistle: “The police are aware of the abuse of children on the internet and you provided details to gain access to restricted sites and the officers were able to trace those details back to your home.

“You can never say this is a victimless crime. While in the fantasy world of your bedroom there may not have been children being abused, but the pictures show real children forced to take part in this activity so others can look at it for their own pleasure.”

Entwistle was also ordered to sign the sex offender register for five years and to abide by a sexual offences prevention order. His computer was confiscated.
