Runners set off from Cross Keys, Uppermill
SADDLEWORTH runners were quick off their marks to take part in the Cross Keys Road and Fell Relay.
Keen athletes tied up their trainers for four alternate laps round a one and a half mile road course and a one mile fell race on Saddleworth Moor. The rain stayed away for the annual event, which saw 41 teams of four runners compete against each other on Saturday.
In the end, the Holmfirth Harriers took the top spot.
Organiser Howard Chambers: “It was a well organised, well attended event and the weather certainly helped.
“A big thanks must got to the 50 or so volunteers who helped out as marshals, timekeepers and assistants.”
