Do you want to help run the local hospital?

THE Pennine Acute Trust, which runs the Royal Oldham Hospital, is looking for two people to play a part in shaping its services.
Anne Unwin and Razia Shamim are due to step down after six years as non-executive directors, leaving the door open for two new people to step into their shoes.
Anne said: “Being a non-executive director in the NHS has been both challenging and rewarding.
“I have particularly enjoyed being involved in the appointment of senior clinicians and directors. By helping to appoint the right people at the top, you can make a difference to staff and patients in the trust.”
Razia, a grandmother of five, has worked as a non-executive director in the NHS for more than 15 years, and said it had been “interesting and enjoyable.”
She said their departure was a perfect opportunity for a fresh face to step forward and make a difference for their community.
The trust also runs Rochdale Infirmary, North Manchester General Hospital and Bury’s Fairfield General Hospital, and provides services at Birch Hill Hospital, Rochdale.
It serves a population of more than 800,000, and is one of the biggest NHS trusts in the country.
Non-executive directors, who are appointed for an initial four years, can come from any walk of life.
