Pauline to take a leap of faith for charity
Date published: 11 September 2008
A MOTHER of two is taking to the skies to raise money for charity.
Pauline Frost (40), from Springhead, will make a 15,000ft parachute jump over Scunthorpe on Sunday in aid of the National Association of Colitis and Crohn’s Disease.
And she is being backed in her fund-raising attempt by licensees Graham and Mandy Griffiths and customers at the Woolpack Inn, Dobcross.
Pauline said: “I’ve never done anything like this before. I have abseiled down the civic centre and raised more than £300 for the association in the Edinburgh Marathon, but this parachute jump takes it to another level.
“It’s something you can’t train for — you just have to do it on the day. I will be strapped to an instructor.”
The Woolpack will be hosting a rock n’ roll extravaganza on Saturday, including a charity auction and supper.
Graham Griffiths said: “Pauline is a great girl and she has tremendous courage. She is really focused on this charity and we were delighted to help.
“We have already received some fabulous raffle prizes and they are still rolling in.”
Added Pauline: “Money is coming in but we can always do with more. Donations can be taken to the pub event which starts at 7pm.”
