Town centre crime blitz

OPERATIONS are in place to deter criminals and make the town centre a safer place for shoppers.
Police are advising car owners to make sure valuables are locked away out of sight following a rise in the number of thefts from vehicles and an operation has been put into place to catch criminals in the act.
Total crime in the town centre is up by 8 per cent from April to August compared to the same period last year.
