TWO adults were given £80 on the spot fines in Hollinwood for buying alcohol for young people.
And a large quantity of alcohol was taken off the streets during the summer following a joint operation between police and the local authority.
Officers seized the alcohol from youths after the Hollinwood Neighbourhood Policing Team received reports of underage drinking from the local community.
Insp Dave Stopford said: “Alcohol influences behaviour, which can result in young people becoming involved in criminal activity.
“The vast majority of young people are well behaved, however we will persistently confront those intent on behaving badly and deal with them accordingly.
“We have the powers to confiscate alcohol and we will continue to do so to create a safer environment.
