HORRIFIED motorists stopped to help after a man threw himself off the multi-storey car park in Silver Street, Oldham, on Saturday morning.
Two car drivers stopped and called emergency services after the 40-year-old hit the pavement behind the Spindles Town Square shopping centre at 11 am. The man died later in hospital.
The road was closed and one eye witness said: “There was a terrible bang and we saw him on the pavement.”
He had jumped from the top. This is the third death since the car park opened and the barrier at the top is not really high enough.”
Police later confirmed that the death was not suspicious and has been reported to the Oldham Coroner.
