All together Now... James Atherton from Oldham Theatre Workshop visits Limeside Primary School for a performance of "Wings"
MUSIC proved magical for staff and pupils at Limeside Primary — teachers spent their latest training day with composer Francis Goodhand to write, perform and record a new song.
“Wings” was created to celebrate the school’s vision and once back at school, the children were thrilled to learn a song written for them.
The new tune was performed by pupils at a special assembly for James Atherton, from Oldham Theatre Workshop, which masterminded the song-writing.
Helen Arya, headteacher, said: “Staff and children sing with real passion and enthusiasm,
“ ‘Wings’ totally encapsulates the spirit of Limeside School.”
Mr Atherton said: “It is a fantastic song but, much more that that, it is a fantastic school.
“Usually it is the staff that are proud of their students but today the students must be so proud of their teachers.”
