A SIZEABLE stash of hard drugs has been uncovered in a police raid on a Hollinwood house.
Officers from Oldham’s Operational Support Unit executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at the property in Cardigan Road at 7.15am on Friday.
They found large quantities of heroin and cocaine, as well as cannabis, hidden throughout the house.
A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A and C drugs with intent to supply. They remain in police custody.
Det Con Dave Millwood, from the Oldham OSU, said: “This is the latest in a number of raids we have conducted. I hope the message is now sinking in that if you deal or possess drugs, we will target you.
“We discovered quantities of heroin, cocaine and cannabis — drugs which can have a devastating effect on our communities.
“It is very pleasing to have stopped these drugs from hitting our streets.
“This is not the last operation we will carry out. We are determined to rid our community of drugs and apprehend those who would seek to get these very dangerous substances out on to the streets.”
Anyone who suspects that drugs are being dealt in their community should call Greater Manchester Police on 0161-872 5050.
