DELPH Wives club has celebrated its 40th anniversary with a party.
The organisation — which began its life as a meeting place for newly-married women — has increased its membership over the years.
Judith Austin, who has chaired the club for more than 10 years and has been a member since its inception, said: “The wives meet on alternate weeks and have raised thousands for charity over the years.
“We are going strong and our loyal membership has been increased by new wives wanting to join.”
In addition to regular meetings with speakers at Delph Methodist Church Hall, the women organise visits and days out.
