Cancer support lunch

A fund-raising lunch to help a new voluntary service for cancer patients, carers and family members is to be staged at the White Hart, Lydgate.
The Oldham Cancer Support Service, based at the Failsworth Primary Care Resource Centre, is hosting the event on Sunday.
Diane Dawson, head of fund-raising, said: “We offer a counselling service, a wide variety of therapies, up to date information of treatment and condition and other support services.”
The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Shoab Akhtar, will be attending the four-course lunch, which includes drinks on arrival with canapes, coffee and homemade chocolates.
Entertainment
There will be entertainment from singer Andy Lee, table magician Jack Steele and an auction with prizes including a weekend break for two in London, donated by Healings International, and a raffle.

The centre, at Ashton Road West Failsworth, is open every weekday except Thursday between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Thursday is 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
