Groundwork wants to promote bike use
OLDHAMERS are being encouraged to leave their car at home on Monday as part of World Car Free Day to help the environment.
Green charity Groundwork Oldham and Rochdale wants to reduce the amount of journeys made by car and sees the event as an ideal opportunity to promote their vision.
Environmental business adviser Emma Inott said: “By leaving their car at home, Oldhamers can reduce local pollution and congestion — and if done over a longer-term basis, can even get fit in the process.” Groundwork’s Environmental Business Services is able to provide public transport information and support for in-house car sharing schemes.
