Money pours in to catch Angel killers

PLEDGES continue to flood in to swell the reward on offer for catching the yobs who battered a kitten to death.

The total has now reached £1,270 following outrage over little Angel being kicked senseless in Coldhurst and then lashed with a bike chain.

Kevin and Patricia Geany, from Moorside, have pledged £100.

Mr Geany said: “We have two cats and two dogs and are animal lovers and used to live in that area. When I read it I was horrified. We want to make a pledge as well to try and get these horrible people sorted out.

“The next step is to do that to people and they will attack an old person next. It’s time someone did something and if it costs me £100 then so be it.”

Jason Hogg, from Lees, pledged £150 in the hope that it will encourage someone to talk. He said: “We need to catch the evil people who killed that poor cat. These people that have done this will be bragging to their friends who will dob them in for this money.”

Vets described the attack on the six-month-old kitten, in Anchor Street on September 5, as one of the worst cruelty cases they have come across. The RSPCA are investigating.
