Dozy fly-tippers leave address in rubbish

Rubbish left outside recycling bins in Lees
LAZY fly-tippers couldn’t be bothered to use recycling bins in Lees but instead left rubbish piled up right next to them.
But the dozy dumpers could soon get their comeuppance for their irresponsible actions because they also left a calling card — their address on papers in the rubbish.
Now Lees councillor Val Sedgwick is pressing for a prosecution of those responsible for leaving a microwave and bags of empty cans outside Lees Library and has passed on the information to enforcement officers.
Councillor Sedgwick said: “I am absolutely fuming about this. The stuff was put outside the bins but should have been put inside them.
“There is an address inside the bags for the person responsible and this has been passed to the environmental enforcement department. This sort of thing just is not necessary and goes in the face of attempts to keep the area tidy.”
Last summer Councillor Sedgwick, a former Mayor of Oldham, had success with another hobby horse — noisy youngsters on the Mills Recreation Ground in Lees.
The action by the diminutive councillor in going out and telling the youngsters off worked and residents say there has been no trouble since.
