Have your say at open day

ROYTON residents are invited to have their say on the area’s new children’s centre.
They are being urged to visit the building in Blackshaw Lane and give their views on what they would like to see provided at the centre in the future.
The open day, on Thursday, October 2, from 12-2pm or 4-7pm, will also give people the chance to find out what services are already available.
A number of agencies will be represented on the day — including Bookstart, the Oral Health Team, Oldham Play Action Group (OPAG), the Family Information Service, Lifelong Learning, Community Police and Job Centre Plus — to give visitors more information.
Maria Greenwood, head of Early Years and Childcare Service, said: “Children’s centres are at the heart of our strategy for improving outcomes for children, through working with our partners and the community.
“These consultation events provide both the community and the early years team with a large amount of useful information, as well as increase understanding of what the children’s centres have to offer and identify what services local people would like to see developed.”
Councillor Kay Knox, cabinet member for children, young people and families, added: “Children’s centres deliver a wide range of services, and it is important that we are aware of what the community would want to see happening on these sites.”
