Date published: 23 September 2008
A WOMAN was hauled to safety by firefighters after her car plummeted down a ravine in Saddleworth.
The Nissan Primera she was driving ploughed through a barrier on Stanedge Road, Diggle, close to the Floating Light pub, and rolled down the hill at 5.20pm yesterday.
Firefighters cut her free from the vehicle and stretchered her back to the road where she was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital. She suffered back and hip injuries but they are believed to be minor.
The road was temporarily closed while the vehicle was recovered.
