We’ll fix your dreams!

FROM making your biggest dreams come true to fulfilling the simplest of requests, the cult TV classic “Jim’ll Fix It” had audiences glued to their screens during the Seventies and Eighties.

And now, the Royton and Chadderton Round Table has resurrected the concept behind the popular TV series and is inviting individuals and organisations from across Oldham to get involved.

The group’s Fix-It campaign began in April this year and one of the first to benefit has been Heyside under 11s football team which has a new kit.

Other lucky recipients include the Honresfeld Care Home in Rochdale, a Leonard Cheshire home, which received £2,000 towards the cost of an ultra violet retardant gazebo, so that residents can enjoy sitting outside without the risk of sunburn. Paul Dobson, community service Officer at the Royton and Chadderton Round Table, said: “Fix-it requests can be for anything from fitting a lock on a door to flying in a helicopter.

If it is within our power we will make it happen for those who meet the criteria.

“It could be an elderly resident who needs their garden tidying or a single parent on a tight budget who hasn’t had a day out with their children in a while. We have the time and resources, within limits, and we would like to put them back into the local community.

Anyone who has a fix-it request is asked to email: paul@tyre-guard.com or write to the R&C Round Table. C/o The Albion Club, Market St Royton, Oldham, OL2 5QA.
