Rescue team finds missing woman

OLDHAM Mountain Rescue has saved the day again, finding a pensioner who had wandered away from home.
The team launched a search for the 70-year-old in the area around her Droylsden home after her carer arrived at the house to find it empty on Monday morning.
And after three hours, they received information that a woman in night clothes has been seen wandering towards Daisy Nook Country Park.
Denzel Broadhurst, from the mountain rescue team, said: “The police often contact us in this type of cases, so that we can search more rural areas, while they concentrate on house-to-house inquiries.
“We were glad we were able to find her with the help of a member of the public. It just shows how vital the support of the general public is in helping us find missing people.”
