Paramedics threatened with knife

A 44-YEAR-OLD man was charged after two paramedics were threatened and trapped in a house in Oldham after responding to an emergency call.
Leonard Paul Hilton (44), of Vale Drive, Coldhurst, was charged with false imprisonment, threats to kill and affray.
Police were called to an address in Vale Drive, Coldhurst, at 6.50 on Tuesday evening.
They were responding to reports that an ambulance crew were being threatened at knifepoint.
Officers arrived at the scene to discover that a 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman had locked themselves in a downstairs room.
They were being threatened after going to Vale Drive in response to an emergency call.
Mr Hilton appeared at Oldham Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
He was remanded in custody by the bench to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, on Thursday, October 9.
