THAT’S THE WAY TO DO IT . . . . Leah Briars (Whitegate End), Aaron Phelan (Radclyffe), and Amy Mottershead (Whitegate End) turn school glue into slimeballs
FROM historical drama to circus skills, youngsters across Chadderton discovered science in the most unlikely of places with the Inspirational Science Theatre Company.
More than 330 pupils from Burnley Brow, Whitegate End, Mills Hill, Yew Tree, Christ Church and St Luke’s primary schools descended on Radclyffe School to watch a unique show which aims to bring science to life.
The youngsters watched transfixed as Dr Ken Farquhar, from the Entertaining Science Theatre Company, used circus skills, audience participation and historical drama to illuminate scientific concepts like gravity, friction, equilibrium and air resistance.
After the performance, the fun continued in the school’s purpose-built science labs, where the pupils put on their scientist caps to turn ordinary school glue into giant slimeballs.
