INVESTIGATIONS are being carried out after part of a pitch collapsed.
The incident at the Woolpack pitch, Dobcross, is believed to have happened on Tuesday or Wednesday. No one was injured. The area has been fenced off and Steve Smith, Oldham’s head of parks and open spaces, said: “It’s pretty bad. We believe it is a collapsed culvert and we will be carrying out investigations.
“It is going to be out of action until about November. We will do out best to accommodate teams.”
