Teenager hit by car

A TEENAGER suffered serious injuries when he was knocked down in Chadderton on Friday.
The 16-year-old is believed to have been crossing Streetbridge, near to the junction with Cragg Road, when he was involved in the accident with a silver Nissan Almera driven by a 41-year-old man.
The youth was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital with a broken arm and ribs, a punctured lung and suspected bleeding to the brain.
He is in a stable condition and his injures are not thought to be life threatening.
Witnesses to the accident, which happened at 8.50pm, should contact police on 0161- 856 8809/8473.
