THE search is on for outstanding men and women to help shape the future of Oldham’s health services.
A national advert has gone out for non-executive directors to join the boards of Oldham Primary Care Trust and Oldham Community Health Services.
The aim is to build up teams that have a breadth of experience, which might include public, private or voluntary sector, local government, academic or community roles.
Oldham PCT chairman Riaz Ahmad explained: “We want people from across Oldham to come along to one of our two events and find out what’s involved in becoming a non-executive director here.
“It’s a challenging job but the role could really help make a difference.”
Oldham CHS chair Les Coop added: “It is particularly important that local people are involved in helping to shape the future of Oldham’s health services.” In particular, the NHS is looking for people who have significant or senior level experience in one or more of the following areas:
Commercial experience at senior level; bringing both governance and private sector expertise. Voluntary sector or community service experience, with experience of regeneration, community development or service provision for disadvantaged groups. Marketing, legal or communications expertise.
Drop into one of two information events to book your place call Deborah Waterhouse on 0161-622 6577. The sessions will be held on October 21 at Ellen House, Waddington Street, at 12pm-2pm and 5pm-7pm.
