Double trouble on the road

FIRE crews from Chadderton and Rochdale had to cut a woman free from a car following a smash in High Crompton yesterday.
Firefighters used specialist equipment to remove the roof of the Fiat Punto after it collided with another punto at a mini roundabout on the junction of Rochdale Road and Thornham Road. Two people were then treated for minor injuries. The junction was blocked for an hour during the busy afternoon school run.
TWO passengers had to be treated for minor injuries after the bus they were travelling in crashed into a car at a major town centre junction yesterday.
Ambulance crews were called out after the First bus crashed into a Fiat Punto at around 2pm.
Both drivers escaped injury in the smash, but one female passenger was taken to hospital with bruising, while another woman was treated for minor bruising on the scene.
